Introduction
The Operations Engineer is responsible for:
Providing assistance to the Project Operations Manager (POM) for ensuring that the complete offshore spread (including ships, assistance vessels, crew and equipment) are prepared and ready for offshore operations
Providing assistance to the Project Operations Manager for co-ordination and interfaces with the other project team members (engineering, logistics, SCM, VOM and field engineers).
He/she will follow all activities performed in ports outside Senegal (vessel mobilisations, HLV load-outs, support to engineering team supervising SITs etc.). He/she will also follow the marine assurance of the whole project marine spread.

Operations activities
The project operations engineer reports to the Deputy Project Operations Manager on day-to-day basis.
INTERFACES
- Ensures that the offshore spreads are prepared and ready for offshore operations with a particular attention to certification, bridging documentation, SIMOPS.
- Seconds the POM to ensure that the installation spreads have full support, in terms of local logistics, supplies and equipment.
- Assists project installation engineers, field engineers for vessel readiness and mobilization activities outside Senegal. Ensures project equipment is mobilised in an efficient and timely manner.
- Liaise with the local Subsea 7 base managers (Dusavik or Vigra) to get the proper support. Perform the same with agents in other ports.
- Execute any specific mobilization activities, including development of procedures, task plans, lift plans, as instructed.
- Coordinate material tracking activity through the project’s material tracker, and ensure equipment inspection, readiness, delivery, tracking & demobilisation.
- Ensure project equipment is demobilized in an efficient and timely manner. This shall be performed by supervising the material tracker.
- Manages and monitors support vessels preparation, on-hire surveys to the satisfaction of the project team and to satisfy COMPANY’s marine assurance process. Ensure the daily follow-up. If qualified for that, review marine audits performed by Subsea 7-appointed surveyors and/or prepare marine procedures (ship-to-ship transfer).
- Assists and provides Engineering input as required.
- Liaise with Company MWS for inspection and issuance of ready for load-out or sail-away certificates (in ports outside Senegal)
- Liaise with various local subcontractors as necessary
- Liaise with Company on-site, with regards to Load-out activities, in terms of method, planning, readiness & execution.
- Ensure that all work performed complies with the requirements of the Project and is carried out in accordance with the rules and the methods of the Group.
- Ensure that all aspects of project Safety, Health & Quality are implemented on each of the Onshore work sites and report to Project’s HSE organisation as necessary.
- Follow-up & report out-of-country expense commitment with agents, with project Cost Controller.
The project operations engineer reports to the Deputy Project Operations Manager on day-to-day basis.

- He/she will coordinate activities with the vessel management teams, the project team members (including PG in Vigra) and the local base managers (Vigra/Dusavik) as well as project engineers and field engineers during vessel mobilisations.
- 3rd party vessels’ masters (HLVs, supply vessels)
- Logistics agents and other local suppliers in port.
- 3rd party vessel technical/operations points of contact
- Company (MWS in particular)
Requirements
CAPABILITY PROFILE – KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, EXPERIENCE AND BEHAVIOURS
The position requires:
The position requires:
- Past experience in a similar position (mainly offshore operations as field engineer or installation engineer, knowledge of transportation planning, lift planning…) is a plus.
- Experience as seafarer or marine officer would be a plus (knowledge of IMCA/OVID audit processes, marine operations similar to heading control of FPSOs etc.).
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in sub-sea construction.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in deep water sub-sea construction.
- Engineering background is a plus.
- High-level knowledge of logistics field is a plus.
- Good coordination skills and availability
- Good communication skills and accurate reporting.
- Good knowledge of spoken and written English mandatory. French is a big plus.
- Good knowledge of standard office software
- The position is based in GPC office for the duration of the offshore execution phase.
