Network Manager – West & Central Africa

Introduction

ROLE PURPOSE

The Network Manager is responsible for the strategic development, setup, and scaling of multiple international industrial brands across West and Central Africa.

This role combines regional business development ownership with hands-on implementation. The Network Manager will design and execute commercial and operational strategies, structure local networks, and ensure sustainable growth across multiple African markets.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Brand & OEM Partnership Management

  • Act as the primary regional interface between the Group and brand principals.
  • Manage long-term OEM and supplier relationships.
  • Ensure compliance with brand standards, contracts, and certifications.
  • Lead discussions on exclusivity, volumes, marketing, and aftersales requirements.

Regional Market Development & Network Setup

  • Define market entry and expansion strategies.
  • Design and implement distribution and dealer networks.
  • Support setup of workshops, service points, and logistics hubs.

Commercial Strategy & Revenue Growth

  • Develop regional commercial strategies per brand.
  • Identify opportunities in oil & gas, mining, construction, logistics, and public sector.
  • Support RFQs, tenders, and complex negotiations.
  • Drive cross-selling between brands.

Commercial Process & Field Engagement

  • Actively participate in face-to-face client meetings at customer facilities together with local country representatives
  • Support local commercial teams during key sales meetings, negotiations, and technical-commercial presentations.
  • Lead or co-lead strategic client visits for key accounts, EPCs, government entities, and major operators.
  • Capture market intelligence directly from client interactions and translate it into actionable strategy.
  • Ensure structured commercial processes from lead qualification to deal closing.

Operational Implementation & Performance Management

  • Translate strategy into scalable operational models.
  • Implement KPIs, dashboards, and reporting tools.
  • Coordinate with HQ functions (finance, logistics, legal, IT).
  • Identify gaps and lead corrective actions.

Financial Ownership & Governance

  • Contribute to budgets, forecasts, and business cases.
  • Monitor profitability, CAPEX, and working capital.
  • Ensure governance and risk management.

Market Intelligence & Strategic Expansion

  • Monitor market dynamics and competition.
  • Propose entry into new countries or brands.
  • Support long-term regional growth planning.

Requirements

REQUIRED PROFILE

Experience & Background

  • 5–7+ years in business development, network management, or regional roles.
  • Background in industrial, automotive, heavy equipment, or technical B2B sectors.
  • Experience in West/Central Africa preferred.
  • Proven market-building experience.

Commercial Background & Field Experience

  • Strong commercial background with proven experience in B2B sales and business development.
  • Ability to build trust-based relationships with clients, partners, distributors, and public stakeholders.
  • Comfortable closing deals in complex, relationship-driven environments.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strategic and execution-oriented.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
  • KPI-driven and structured.

Languages & Mobility

  • Fluent in English and French.
  • Willingness to travel extensively.
